Presentation

IUCD was placed 1 year prior, currently cannot find strings.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Transvaginal

ultrasound

IUCD is mostly embedded within the anterior wall of the uterus with at least one if not possibly 2 arms penentrating through the serosal surface into the pelvic cavity. The proximal 5 mm of the IUCD appears within the endometrial cavity. Small volume of periuterine free fluid.

Left hemorrhagic cyst/follicle measuring 30 mm.

Case Discussion

IUCD perforation is an uncommon complication. This patient required removal in theater.
