Presentation

Palpable nodule in the left cervical region, in the neck level IIa.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Oval lesion visible posteriorly to the left parotid gland, solid, well delimited, markedly hypoechoic, presenting central hilum, wider than tall, with dimensions of approximately 3.48 x 2.40 x 1.37 cm. Color Doppler shows that the lymph node has central and radiated vascularization.

Case Discussion

Jugulodigastric lymph nodes are levels II cervical lymph nodes, commonly encountered in routine neck sonography, in subjects with normal neck ultrasound findings. Usually they are elliptical / round, have an echogenic hilus and are relatively prominent in the upper jugular chains.
