Presentation
Mechanical fall with knee pain.
Patient Data
Minimally displaced longitudinal fracture of the lateral tibial plateau. Lipohemarthrosis.
Minimally comminuted, undisplaced longitudinally oriented fracture involving the lateral tibial plateau. No cortical step/depression. Up to 1 mm of separation at the articular surface. Tiny osseous fragments at the posterior aspect of the medial tibial plateau, of uncertain donor site. Alignment remains normal. Small lipohemarthrosis.
Case Discussion
Tibial plateau fracture with lipohemarthrosis, Schatzker I type (cleavage fracture of the lateral tibial plateau with <4 mm of depression or displacement).
