Left tubal hydrosalpinx and loculated spill of contrast medium
Presentation
Secoundary infertility.
Patient Data
The uterine cavity is normal and deviated to the right side of the pelvic cavity.
The right fallopian tube is normal with a free peritoneal spill of contrast materials.
Left-sided fallopian tube with fluid-filled dilatation due to hydrosalpinx.
There is a large loculation of contrast media in the left side of the pelvic cavity and lateral to the fallopian tube related to pelvic peritubal adhesions.
Case Discussion
Hydrosalpinx is a descriptive term that refers to fluid-filled dilatation of the fallopian tube.
Pelvic adhesions are usually diagnosed on HSG by the presence of a loculated spill of contrast medium.
