Presentation

Pain and swelling in the left knee at the tibial tuberosity region particularly during activity.

Patient Data

Age: 13 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Irregularity and radiodense fragmentation at the tibial tuberosity with adjacent soft tissue swelling.

Case Discussion

Osgood-Schlatter disease occurs at the insertion of the patellar tendon into the tibial tubercle and is thought to result from the chronic micro-trauma to the tendon insertion during growth.
