Multiple small bone islands are seen particularly near the knee joint, in keeping with osteopoikilosis
Case Discussion
Osteopoikilosis is a rare inherited benign condition and seen on skeletal x-rays incidentally. It mainly appears in long bones, carpal and tarsal bones, the pelvis, sacrum and scapulae. Osteopoikilosis -is one of the skeletal “don’t touch” lesions- should always be kept in mind to avoid unnecessary further investigations.
