Pars interarticularis defect with grade 1 spondylolisthesis

An oblique/transverse lucency is seen traversing the pars at the level of L5 lumbar vertebrae with mild anterolisthesis of L5 over S1, suggestive of defect in pars interarticularis at this level.
Case Discussion
Fractures in the pars usually occurs due to repetitive stress, especially in athletes. These are also referred as spondylolysis. Associated forward subluxation is called anterolisthesis which is further graded depending on the percentage of subluxation. Flexion and extension radiographic may be obtained in equivocal cases.
