Presentation

Pain in anterior aspect of knee

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Edema is seen in the superolateral aspect of Hoffa's fat pad. Mild reactive edema is seen in the lateral articular facet of the patella. Focal grade II chondromalacia seen along lateral articular facet of patella.

Patella is high riding with an Insall-Salvati ratio of 1.4.

Phase-encoded motion artifact seen on axial PD fat sat images.
