Pisotriquetral osteoarthritis

Presentation

Chronic pain of the left wrist mainly the ulnar side.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Narrowing of the pisotriquetral joint space with subchondral sclerosis and marginal osteophytes. No other carpal bone sen is seen.

Case Discussion

Pisotriquetral osteoarthritis is often associated with enthesopathy of the flexor carpi ulnaris. The semisupinated oblique view (30° supination) is the best view to show the osteoarthritic change. CT and MRI are rarely indicated 1,2.
