The fusion of the right coronal suture leads to a deformation of the forehead, which is flattened on the same side.

Case Discussion

The closure of the coronal suture typically begins around 24 years old. Premature unilateral closure of a coronal suture results in anterior plagiocephaly, often leading to an abnormal skull shape. The incidence of anterior plagiocephaly is approximately one in 10,000 live births. Unilateral coronal craniosynostosis occurs four to seven times more frequently than its bilateral counterpart.

CT findings associated with anterior plagiocephaly include peri-sutural sclerosis, bony bridging, or complete absence of the suture.
