Presentation

The patient was reviewed for right-sided chest pain with breathing difficulty, fever, nausea, multiple episodes of vomiting, no appetite, and body pain since 4 days ago. clinical examination: decreased breath sound at the right side of the chest.

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Almost complete opacification of the right hemithorax and mild mediastinal shift to the left.

Pleural effusions are abnormal accumulations of fluid within the pleural space. They may result from a variety of pathological processes that overwhelm the pleura's ability to reabsorb fluid.
