Quadrigeminal cistern lipoma

Presentation

Headaches with visual disturbances.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
mri

Small well defined lesion in the right paramedian region of the quadrigeminal cistern eliciting a high signal on T1, T2 and FLAIR, attenuated on sagittal T1 fat sat sequence with blooming artifact on GE. No enhancement is seen on postcontrast sequence.

Signs of idiopathic intracranial hypertension:

  • tortuosity of both optic nerves

  • enlarged subarachnoid spaces around the optic nerves

  • mild flattening of the posterior sclera

  • enlarged Meckel cave bilaterally

  • partially empty sella turcica
