Saccular aneurysm of the terminal ICA compressing the III cranial nerve

Presentation

Right III CN palsy.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

The MRI sequences show a partially thrombosed saccular aneurysm of the right internal carotid artery at the junction C6/7 segments measuring 11 x 7 mm with a neck measuring 2.5 mm, compressing the adjacent segment of the oculomotor nerve (III) well-visualized on T1 and FIESTA sequences.

Case Discussion

MRI features of a partially thrombosed saccular aneurysm of the right internal carotid artery located at the junction C6/7 segments, compressing the ipsilateral oculomotor nerve (III).
