Presents post low-speed MVA. Bruising from seatbelt and tender to lower abdomen.

Fat stranding in the subcutaneous tissues of the lower anterior abdominal wall is in keeping with the seatbelt injury. The liver, gallbladder, pancreas, adrenal glands, spleen, and kidneys do not show acute traumatic injuries (not illustrated above). Bowel is unremarkable. No free gas or free fluid in the peritoneal cavity. Pleural bases are clear. No fractures within the imaged bones.

Seatbelt sign refers to a bruising in the distribution of a seatbelt (i.e. horizontal and/or diagonal) across the abdomen, chest and sometimes neck.
