Second branchial cleft cyst

Presentation

Painless right-sided neck swelling for a long time.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female
mri

There is a well-defined cystic lesion measuring about 30 x 35 x 55 mm in the right side of the neck, deep to the sternocleidomastoid muscle, lateral to the carotid sheath, and posterior to the right submandibular gland. It displays fluid content (with intermediate signal on T1 and high on T2) and a thin enhancing wall.

No signs of infection or complications were identified.                            

A few reactive lymph nodes are seen at both cervical zones.
