Case Discussion

Solid pseudopapillary tumor is a rare slow-growing pancreas tumor with low malignant potential and female predilection at age <40 years. Occurrence of metastasis and recurrence of the tumor rarely exist.

Usually resection is a curative treatment option. Large size (>5 cm or >8 cm according to different sources) and male gender may be negative prognostic factors.

In this case distal pancreatectomy was performed and biopsy of the post-surgical specimen confirmed a solid pseudopapillary tumor.
