Presentation
Infant with macrocephaly and vomiting
Patient Data
Biateral subdural hygroma with debris.
Bilateral symmetric subdural hygroma with small acute subdural hematoma in the right posterior vertex.
Bilateral subdural hygroma with small acute right vertex subdural hematoma. There are very small supra and infratentorial acute subdural hematomas as well.
Case Discussion
Macrocephaly is a common presentation of subdural hygroma, as is vomiting due to increased intracranial pressure. Acute subdural hemorrhage is a common complication, thought to be due to stretching of small vessels across the expanded subdural space as well as due to membranous bleeding.
