Right flank pain with hydroureteronephrosis was reported in a recent ultrasound evaluation.
Patient Data
A percutaneous nephrostomy is inserted on the right side in the appropriate position, and the distal end is located in the right renal collecting system. After contrast media injection, moderate hydroureteronephrosis is observed on the right side due to a 15 mm mid-ureteral stricture.
In addition, a double J stent is seen on the left side, and several adjacent stones are noted in the left renal lodge.
Case Discussion
Nephrostogram (antegrade pyelogram) fluoroscopically evaluates the upper collecting system by introducing water-soluble contrast through the nephrostomy catheter and can help determine tube position and assess residual stones in the upper collecting system or the level of the urinary tract stenosis.
