Case contributed by Ahmad Alomari
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Hematuria after multiple Foley catheter insertion trials.

Patient Data

Age: 90 years
Gender: Male

Ascending urethrogram

Fluoroscopy

About 50 mL of non-ionic contrast media were injected.

There is a narrowing noted at the junction of the bulbar and membranous urethra associated with contrast intravasation (high resistance) into pelvic veins suggesting a tight stricture formation.

Case Discussion

This patient represents the typical features of urethral stricture, in which there is significant resistance to injection associated with intravasation of contrast into pelvic vessels.
