Venetian blind appearance (uterus)

Dr Daniel J Bell and Dr Henry Knipe et al.

The Venetian blind (a.k.a. rain shower 2) appearance is a sonographic finding that is typically associated with adenomyosis but can also occur in uterine fibroids. The Venetian-blind artifact associated with adenomyosis is typically "thin" whereas when associated with uterine fibroids, there are also edge shadows or dense posterior shadowing from calcification 1.
